Untz, untz... untz, untz...

Since the 90s are the new 80s, and the 80s are cool again, and it's now okay to use expressions like "oh he's so mired in the 90s" willy nilly, it means we need to talk about drum'n'bass.

Roni Size / Reprazent's New Forms is totally acceptable because the production still sounds relevant. Test of time stood.

You don't want the second album though.

Most Omni Trio now sounds dated, but there's an undeniable groove to some of their tracks.

Everything but the Girl's foray into this territory, namely the Walking Wounded LP, is slightly lame but also yielded some very nice songs so I won't point the finger of blame at any owner.

The odd bit of LTJ Bukem never goes astray either, but you don't want too much. Journey Inwards plus one or two Earth compilations should just about do it.

Photek was always a bit overrated in my opinion

The jury is still very much out on Squarepusher and Aphex Twin, and the equation seems to include drug use. I like both artists and am happy to see a couple of CDs.

Basically the arbitrary "no obsession" rule reigns supreme in this touchy territory.
